Bearcats Ready for Another Big East Run and Ultimate Tease?

GoBearcats.com

As Collaros tossed for a personal best 5 TD's against L'ville last night and once again UC reclaimed the Nail Keg, the tease begins anew. The Tease I speak of is the mightiest of the mighty-might BCS conference champs University of Cincinnati Bearcats. The Big East acts like we belong with the elites. My Bearcats teased with a 12-0 record going into the biggest game of our lives last year and getting drubbed. Nationally, we may be the least respected of the BCS conferences, and UC's poor showing against Florida last year in the Sugar Bowl, did nothing to alleviate those vibes. Because of that showing versus "The anointed One", you know: the Gospel according to Tebow, I approached this season with trepidation. Our Young team (No seniors on the starting D) has given 1st year Butch kind of an "out", with the national Media, ESPN dubbed this year "Building a Program" last night in prime time on national TV. The reason I'm skeptical is to not be let down again, yes losing loser to ND had something to do the BCS loss, but being built up as a true national championship caliber program is unrealistic to me UC fans. Some of my colleagues over on the CBS boards couldn't stand my realism as I told them all year we didn't belong in the top 3, Florida proved that, as well as other "TOP" SEC/BIG 12/and Possibly BIG 10 teams would. I wanted UC to prove me wrong against FL but when loser left for the Golden Dome, that killed our chances, I felt he would have been good for two more touchdowns, that would have put UC in the 30's prob, still shy of Florida's 50+, as our Achilles Heal Defense performing as expected.

The loser said it best, we may be able to beat them (top teams) "Once" with 1 game to prepare like Boise State over Oklahoma a few years ago, but lets face it we just cant recruit the criminals (23 arrests and counting in Florida Under a blind Myer and NCAA eyeballs) like other conferences can.

So here we are rebuilding again, and many are saying we will win the Big East. "Rebuilding", thats what we had to listen to for the first few years under "That Guy" (That guy i speak of is now struggling at 3-3 with a team he said would win a NC, not this year Irish: Snicker Snicker) Funny thing is I used to cheer for them, you know: midwest catholic boy and all, not any more, as long as he is there: the Continuing demise of that program is fine with me! (Although if the sales guy from Boston wins there i wont be surprised) My point is: here we go again, let the teasing begin: I hope!

Yes it hurts to keep rising to the top, only to have a letdown of a BCS blowout or another coach leaving for bigger financial and prestigious futures. I told many in my past CBS/UC Boards life, that Kell...oooops "Loser" would leave  for a bigger job and I was lambasted as a traitor for 2 years. UC is a stepping stone job to bigger schools(top schools) and bigger programs and bigger money, If Butch wins and he's offered bigger, he will bounce also: get used to it UC.  I think it says fantastic things for our program to continue to rebuild and compete. Its great to see us on the national stage, but I refuse to be disappointed, teased with NC talk, so i will temper my expectations. And when we win the Big East again someday(if the BE keeps there automatic bid) and we get a shot, I will cheer, but not expect.

Now if a playoff is implemented: even Cinderella's can get a ticket tot that dance! Cincinnatis and teams like us=Cinderellas, Cincinnatis and Boises St's DO NOT = perennials National Champs, (pssst just dont tell the players they might just surprise us: Right Boise St?) So let the teasing begin Bcats, Im ready to buy in: again, and again and again...........
